GOLDBORNE YOUTH PROJECT
The Easter holiday has been the busiest two weeks we have had with projects running in Camden, Uxbridge, Fulham,Westborne Park, Kings Cross to name a few. One project that has really stood out is at “The Hut” in Goldborne. We touched base with a very talented group of ten 9 to 13 year olds who were given the opportunity to create a mural on the side of Yum Yums take away( all those who live in the area will know that the Carribean dishes served up here are out of this world!)
After brainstorming ideas the group worked well as a team to produce the mural below. Everyone involved worked very responsibly and showed great enthusiasm through out.

Unity Mural, West Drayton
Over half term West Drayton YPC held an activity week open to all local youths. Dance classes, Djing workshops and a massive climbing wall were just a few activities to name. Cancontrol delivered a two day “Urban Art” workshop. Canvases were completed and on the second day the group created a “Unity” mural. Those involved felt that the mural would represent the cultural diversity of the young people in the area.
Fountains Mill YPC, Uxbridge
The last workshop of 2008 was at Fountains Mill YPC, after producing a high standard of canvas work, young people involved worked together to create a mural at the entrance of the building.
Eat Well, West Drayton YPC
Working with the young people of West Drayton YPC we spent a sunny winter morning painting a new mural for there ever growing hall of fame. Previous murals are based on the problems associated with gun and knife crime and gangs, we decided to base this particular mural on the importance of healthy eating.
