“UNLOC” ,West Drayton YPC- Chill Zone Project

The Unloc project aims to work with young people who have been excluded from school on their academic, personal and social development skills and support them to return to school.
It is run by Lucy Wylde and a very supportive team.  Within this project we challenged the group to produce canvases that were themed around a mural we would later paint in the new “Chill Zone” area.
Young people brainstormed lots of different and exciting ideas, after a group decision we painted a sunset mural with a jungle scene, the lettering was based on cloud shapes which enhanced the relaxed atmosphere.

Sulgrave Youth Club, Shephards Bush

Having previously delivered a very successful workshop at Sulgrave which focused on canvases we decided to base this workshop on clothing.
Once again the young people of Sulgrave shined, producing some amazing T-shirts and baseball caps.

Will from Cancontrol has also designed the clubs new logo that will be used as a sign on the front of the building and also on clothing.

Lark Hall Primary School, Stockwell

Cancontrol Team travelled to South London to deliver a day workshop with a selected group of young people from Lark Hall. Working alongside a great team of volunteers organised by kids company.

The object of the day was to create a mural stating the school moto: Smile Care Listen Share Succeed.

Through out the day everyone took it in turns to contribute to the mural whilst at the same time canvases were painted by all young people involved.

What made these kids shine was they all just got on with the job in hand and really wanted to do there own thing, any time we tried to help them they didnt want to know!
It was a very successful day with some great canvases done and a outstanding mural, big up Lark Hall.
